Fearless
As you read your daily newspaper headlines and media stories, their must be only one thing on your mind, the world must caving in on itself. All we hear is financial crises, escalating petrol prices, violence, fear of terrorism, child abuse (even from the church) etc, all these and many more uncertainty has become the norm today.
One of the greatest weapon of the enemy is to get you and I to focus on the things happening around you; to get us to listen to words that produces fear and despair so he can bring the very things you fear to pass in your life whereby taking you off God’s desired destiny for your life. Doesn’t it sound like a dirty game? But there is nothing like fair play when it comes to Satan. When it comes to fear, your ignorance of this powerful spiritual force will actually cause things you do not desire to happen in your life. A believer cannot afford to harbor fear in any level, form shape or sizes. We must all be educate on this one very important weapon of the devil and there is no better time than now to eradicate it from your mind and heart for good.Fear! The Word of God makes us to understand that fear is a spiritual force, just like faith.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Fear is the substance of things not hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. Faith and fear operate by the same spiritual laws. One is the reciprocal, or opposite, of the other. Romans 10:17 says “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Equally, fear cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of Satan. This may come through doctor’s report about your health, through media, newspaper and even through unfortunately your loved ones.
In John 14:1 Jesus said ‘Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me’. In another word, only you may “let” your heart be troubled or let fear into your heart.
Now to better understand faith and fear, you must comprehend the platforms from which these forces operate. Everything in the Kingdom of God operates by love, and since faith works by love according to the scriptures, it is love that forms a foundation for faith. On the other hand, the world system operates by selfishness. Therefore, fear can only stand on a platform of selfishness.
So in another words to get rid of fear, you must first address any areas of selfishness in your life. With this I mean even the fear of heights or of danger as they are all tied to selfishness. When a man is afraid for his safety, it is as if a switch in his spirit is turned on that signals a self-preservation mechanism. When you are concerned with preserving yourself, you have essentially crowned yourself god and rejected the divine protection of God. When this type of fear is in place, you automatically connect yourself to the very thing you fear.
Beloved, you must understand that there is no such thing as a “little” fear being okay. God puts those who are fearful in the same category as liars, murderers, and whoremongers! (Revelation 21:8). To be a Believer and harbor fear in your life is a slap in God’s face. He has given you direct access to every spiritual blessing in Heaven—from finances to protection. You have nothing to fear!
Fear must be recognized as a foreign spirit (evil spirit) that does not come from God. If you are ever afraid of something, you can have confidence that the fear is coming from Satan, no matter what type of fear (II Timothy 1:7). A Christian’s reborn spirit does not produce fear, so if fear comes, it is an attack of the enemy against your soul. His objective is to introduce fear to your mind so it makes its way to your spirit. In this time of global economic crises, many believers are afraid they will lose their jobs; they are afraid and fearful about what will happen with their mortgage/bank loans. If only we have faith in God’s word as we do in doctor’s report or as we do in the media, we will be doing exploit on a daily basis.
We must search our heart for any areas of fear and deal with them immediately. Fear is a sin and it must be treated as sin, we must repent of not trusting in God’s word, as we do that, we must ask for His forgiveness so we can receive mercy and then be empowered with ability to be fearless. Find the scripture that relates to the thing you fear and begin meditating and continually confessing it. Walk in love toward others so the love of God can drive fear out of your heart and mind. When you operate from a position of love, selfishness is destroyed and fear has nothing to stand on. You do not have to be in bondage to this devilish spirit; as a Believer, God has given you dominion over Fear so be fearless!!! - II Timothy 1:7
